Abbreviation-table

All files in the SoundClips library are named using the DOS 8+3 format, meaning that the actual name of the file has a maximum of 8 characters and the file extension contains 3 characters for example "1EB8A012.mp3".

Using just 8 characters to describe a sound is quite limiting, especially when there are 10000 files to be named. For this reason, the files in the library have been named using a code which can be understood by reading the following example:

5. Add:

The example will give you:

1EB8A012.mp3 - 1 = Techno
1EB8A012.mp3 - EB = Electronic Bassline
1EB8A012.mp3 - 8 = 150 BPM
1EB8A012.mp3 - A = Pitch
1EB8A012.mp3 - 012 = Sample number.
