Surely one could discuss at length which exact instruments are to be considered for this category "Digital Synthesizer". We have handled it within this library like this: synthesizers which are neither "vintage" nor analog nor FM-sound processors.

That's why you will find in this bass folder and also in the following groups sounds from equipment like the Korg Wavestation, the Yamaha VL1 or the EMU Morpheus. Also the group of the Workstation Keyboards (i.e. Korg 01/W or T1) and others, like Synths that are often also called "Rompler" (artsy word made from ROM-Player and Sampler) are available here. Part of the family of  the so called sample based synthesizers are among others the Ensoniq VFX or the Kawai K1 and K4 like in the 1st sound example. The second Square-Bass sample sound comes from a Roland JD800 with the MASTERBITS "DANCEsation" Card Expansion.

sub folder leads

109 Multisamples

This folder contains over 100 so called leads, also sounds that are well suited for solos and melodies. The range of sounds is very diverse and goes from rather soft sounds like the VFX sound in the first sound example to the off-beat Rave sound in example 2, which was produced on a JD-800 with the Masterbits Inspiration ROM-Card-extension (Code IS).

sub folder Misc.

160 Multisamples

"Miscellaneous" contains 160 Multisamples, that don't quite fit into the other special groups. The sound samples in the upper row are (from right to left ): a longer FX sweep sound from the 01/W, a typical Morph sound from the respective Morpheus and an Ambient sound from the T1. And for all those that didn't consider the sound sample from the WS Inspiration Card Series in the previous folder off-beat enough, here the proof: It can be more off-beat, like you can hear in the Rave sound example 4 from the respective ROM card series.

sub folder pads

213 Multisamples

DS = Digital Synthesizer

IS = Inspiration Cards Sounds

Here you can find over 200 Multisamples, that are foremost for the use as spacial sounds. These are mainly synth strings & -choir sounds and warm pads. The first sample contains a typical "Fairlight-Rattle-Choir-Sound" from the K4, the second one is a very wide layer sound, which is available on one of the five MASTERBITS extension cards for the Wavestation.

sub folder seq

109 Multisamples

SS = Digital Synthesizer

IS = Inspiration Cards Sounds

Typical sequencer and arpeggio sounds don't have to come from analog sound processors, because the kind of sample based synthesizer has also very interesting ones to offer. Among those over 100 mostly short sounds, you will find next to rather typical SQ sounds also sound material like the Industrial sound in the two examples (Korg 01/W and WS).
