Coding system
for the
Monster
Sound Library

   MONSTER PACK / english version

To guarantee the capability of the Monster pack CD-ROMs to run with the old CD-ROM Drives, we chose the "old DOS 8.3-scenario" - meaning 8-digit file names and 3 digit extensions, like i.e. "1EB8A012.WAV". The 8 digits are of course not enough for the complete library of 10,400 sounds and therefore we have come up with a logical coding system that we want to present here.

1st digit:
2nd & 3rd digit:
4th digit:
5th digit
6th to 8th digit:
CD-Number / Style
Sample description
tempo
pitch / key
running mumber within the sample group

The above mentioned example therefore means this:

1EB8A012.wav - 1 = Techno
1EB8A012.wav - EB = Electronic Bassline
1EB8A012.wav - 8 = 150 BPM
1EB8A012.wav - A = A min
1EB8A012.wav
- 012 = 12th loop of this category

is_at_an.gif (5001 Byte) Following you will find a complete overview of the used coding. Many of the abbreviations are also LINKS to free MP3 Sound Samples of the respective categories. If you´re not familar with the handling of MPEG Audio files, please find some hints at our MPEG-Page !
